Preamble

The world today is characterized by disasters that threaten the very existence of man and life on earth in
general. Such happenings are being reported regularly through the print and electronic media.Many of
these incidents result in large numbers of casualties and considerable loss of property which undermine
development efforts. It is therefore imperative that organizations put in place instruments and develop
capacities and capabilities to prepare for, prevent, mitigate and respond to disasters.

Officers who have responsibilities in Disaster Management.
