Strategic Leadership Development Programme (SLDP) closes

The Strategic Leadership Programme No. 21 came to an end on Friday 11 September, 2009. The programme had been going on at KIA, for the last six weeks.

Elijah Wachira, Deputy Director, Business Development Division, KIA awards a certificate to a participant. With them is Mr. Aggrey Mugenya, Senior Lecturer, KIA.The closing session was graced by Elijah Wachira, Deputy Director, Business Development Division, KIA. He presented certificates to the 25 participants, who were drawn from various ministries and parastatals. The participants are top senior government officers, serving in various capacities.

The Strategic Leadership Development Programme challenges participants to think strategically about the operations in their organizations and:

• To make a successful transition from being managers to being leaders
• Develop and apply key leadership skills and competencies
• Re-orient them and make them more focused on delivering quality service to the customer in the most efficient and cost effective way
• Apply various concepts, tools and techniques to improve performance in the public service
