Preamble

In many organizations, the traditional model for Human Resource management as a centralised
operation that takes care of the personnel functions taking much of the responsibility away from
operational managers, has been challenged and changed.
New approaches have been more helpful to effectiveness and value for money. Against this
background this course sets out to examine key upto date ideas on Human Resources operations
for the purpose of making them effective.
