JOB TITLE:                PRINCIPAL LECTURER PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION & POLICY ANALYSIS
DIVISION:                 BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

RESPONSIBLE TO:     DEPUTY DIRECTOR, BD


JOB PURPOSE
To enhance the Institute’s capacity to carry out quality Training, Research and Consultancy Services aimed at improving public service performance
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1.    To lead and develop external networks such educational bodies, clients, examiners and assessors so as to better collaboration
2.    Delivers lectures in Public Administration & Policy Analysis, Strategic Planning & management.
3.    Designs and coordinates modules in Public administration & policy analysis, strategic Planning & management.
4.    Provide advisory services on issues related to policy analysis and  national development planning in response to demands from sub-regional and regional institutions.
5.    Prepare training materials for courses delivered such as training manuals, course notes, audio visual aids etc
6.    Initiates and co-ordinates, collaborative research and consultancy
7.    Carry out any other assignments as may be assigned from time to time.
COMPETENCIES SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Be able to demonstrate:
•    Masters degree in strategic management, public policy & administration, or other relevant field is essential.
•    At least 5-7 years experience in training and/or research
•    Possession of training of trainers certificate
•    A PhD in a related area will be an added advantage.
•    Excellent inter personal and communication skills
•    Must be a team player
•    In depth knowledge of and insight into national development priorities, and functions and practices of government will be an added advantage.
