The KIA act (No. 2 of 1996) section 4 states that the functions of the institute are as follows:

To Provide training, Consultancy and research services, designed to promote national development, standards of competence and integrity in the public service, State corporation, local governments and the private sector.

Who we are

The Kenya Institute of Administration (KIA) is a Public Management Development Institute. The Institute was established by the Kenyan Government in 1961.

The main Purpose of the institute is to build human resource capacity and enhance management Skills. This in turn will ensure Kenyans get the results they expect from the public service.
